I focus. So many distractions around me. Cars are honking outside. I hear a crash, metal on metal. There's a jackhammer. A cat is meowing and nibbling my feet. The sun shines brightly in the room reflecting off a mirror and right into my eyes. I focus. Rock music plays—it's a drum solo. The neighbors above me are stomping on their floor; the neighbors beside me are arguing about a woman. The fire alarm goes off in my kitchen. Smoke fills the apartment. But I focus on my task. I'm getting this shit done. No matter what.
